Pathfinder Healthcare Developments (PHD) is a Community Interest Company (CIC) and operate as a social business. This means we reinvest our profits and assets for the public good.
We have been operating as a CIC since January 2008 following an innovative ten-year partnership between two big inner city partnerships; Cape Hill Medical Centre and Smethwick Medical Centre.
Ownership of PHD has now been undertaken by Smethwick Medical Centre; an innovative and cutting edge GP’s Practice, changing the face of primary healthcare for the future and at the forefront of social enterprise. This puts us in a strong position when bidding for contracts such as: Personal Medical Services (PMS), General Medical Services (GMS), Additional Personal Medical Services (APMS); Local Enhanced Services (LES) and Directed -Enhanced Services (DES). We constantly perform well above national benchmark clinical standards. We also have an excellent history of working within the local health economy and with a wide spectrum of partner organisations and community members to deliver new ways of tackling health inequalities.
